Improvisation occurs in all periods and all styles with the exception of a defined period in classical music. Improvisation can lead to the finding of new forms and many improvisations found their final form on paper in the Romantic Era; no sonatas or symphonies, but free compositions that evolved from an inner need to be played. A programme with good compositions straight from the heart.
